Rupert Harrison was born on April 29th on the island of Trinidad. He grew up in the Catholic Church and always had the desire to join the clergy. At the age of 16, after being witnessed to by his mother, he got baptized and became a member of Unity Faith Healing Church in Port of Spain, Trinidad. There he became active in the church’s youth group and eventually became the youth group leader. Rupert migrated to the United States in May 1989, with a desire to attend bible school. He became a member of Mt. Ararat House of Prayer where he met his wife Jenille, and together they have three children. Rupert was a member of Mt. Ararat House of Prayer for twelve years, where he served as the associate pastor for six of those years.
Rupert was ordained at Mt. Olive Pentecostal Church in Brooklyn, NY under International Evangelism Crusades, Inc. to the Gospel Ministry on the 17th of May 1997. He is also a graduate of Mt. Olive Bible Institute where he received his ThD in Theology.
In 2004, Rupert became a member of Miller Evangelical Christian Union Church and in August 2007, he was ordained under the Churches of Christ in Christian Union. He currently serves as a member of the Christian Education Teaching Team.
Since becoming a member, Rupert has served in the following capacities: staff minister, Church Extension President, Marriage Couples Fellowship leader, along with his wife Jenille, building manager, Christian Education Minister, and Audio Ministry Coordinator.
In the Northeast District, Rupert has served on the Board of Trustees, Board of Examination and Ordination, the Pastor Relationship Board, as Evangelical Christian Youth advisory pastor, and on the Board of Ohio Christian University.
In 2013, Rupert became the visiting Minister at Hope Community Christian Union Church in Lowell, Massachusetts where he visits twice a month to assist with teaching and preaching. Rupert has been a Christian for 45 years and counting and one of his favorite scripture verses is 2 Timothy 2:15 which states, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
