Rev. Jenille Kelly-Harrison

Jenille Kelly-Harrison was born on the picturesque island of Trinidad. From early in her life, she loved participating in sports, and she excelled in track and field which allowed her to travel the world as a teen athlete. Upon graduating high school in Trinidad, Jenille received a full athletic scholarship to attend Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi in 1985. She transferred in 1987 to Murray State University where she graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and 1992 with a Master of Arts in Recreation and Leisure Services.  

In the summer of 1992, Jenille moved to New York to enter the workforce. She became a member of Mt. Ararat House of Prayer where she met her husband, Rev. Dr. Rupert Harrison. Together they share three children.  

In 2005, Jenille joined Miller Evangelical Christian Union Church after attending for a year with her husband who had joined one year earlier.   Although she comes from a deeply spiritual family, and despite having been baptized at a young age and having grown up in church, she did not have a personal encounter with the Lord until her young adulthood. Even then, as an avid church attendee, she did not fully embrace the call to ministry until she was in her mid-thirties.  

Jenille attended Alliance Theological Seminary in New York City in 2007. It was during that time while fulfilling an internship requirement, she felt the leading of the Lord in the area of Women’s Ministry. Encouraging women from all walks of life, to be all they can be for the Lord while supporting them in all areas of their spiritual growth and beyond has been and continues to be her life’s work.  

In August 2014, Jenille was ordained by the Churches of Christ in Christian Union. Since receiving her council license, in 2011, she has been a member of the pastoral team at Miller Evangelical. She currently serves as the President of the Women’s Ministry and as a member of the Sunday School Teaching team. She previously served in Married Couples Ministry, Youth Ministry, and Evangelism and Outreach Ministry.
