DAY1

Permission Granted – Min. Margaret Orakwue

When Jesus died on the cross the Bible says that the veil in the temple was torn in two. This means that we have access to his throne. What a privilege it is to know that we can come to Jesus just as we are in prayer at anytime. As we begin this 21 day journey let us use the access we have to connect with God.

Matthew 27:51

Song: Throne Room Song by Charity Gayle feat. Ryan Kennedy

DAY2

Bold Unwavering Faith – Min. Rachel David

Trusting people is hard, especially if you’ve ever experienced disappointment. It requires us to put aside the things that did not go right in hopes that things will get better. Putting our faith in God and trusting His plans for us doesn’t mean that life will be without challenges or that we will get everything we want. It means that we are believing His promises for us, that He will supply our needs according to His plan. As you pray, go before God boldly, humbly and with confidence knowing that you will receive what He has for you according to His will.

1 John 5:14-15

Song: Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) by Hillsong UNITED

DAY3

Perseverance – Rev. Jenille Harrison

Are life’s challenges getting you down? Do you feel like you’re the only one struggling and God isn’t aware of what you’re going through? It’s so easy to want to give up once life starts getting difficult but trust in the fact that God is always with us, that He knows and sees all and that He has a plan for every situation in our lives. Let us pray and ask God for the strength and endurance to get through life’s difficulties and for the vision to see the lessons and beauty in our struggle. Be encouraged!

Philippians 3:13-14

DAY4

A Pure and Postured Heart – Sis. Noel Chase

When we hear the word “posture” for many of us it conjures up memories of being told to sit or stand up straight. It speaks to both the position of our spine and the overall condition of our body. When we think of a clean and postured heart, it refers to a heart that is positioned in the direction of God, one that is open to God and His word and one that is prepared to glorify and honor Him through our worship . As we go to God in prayer, let us ask that He remove anything that is not of Him from our hearts and our lives so that there are no obstacles preventing us from drawing nearer to Him.

Psalm 51:10, Proverbs 4:23

Song: Create in Me a Clean Heart by Donnie McClurkin

Day5

Renewed Passion – Pastor Justin Lockhart

Are there tasks that are a part of your daily routine that you can do backwards and forwards without even thinking about it? Are there things you do because you feel obligated to do it or because you know it is the right thing to do but you aren’t giving 100% of your effort to it?  Now think about your relationship with God. Sometimes we get stuck in the routine of trying to be an obedient Christian, that we forget how to be intentional about seeking out God.  As we pray, let us ask God to restore our love and renew our zeal for Him.

Revelation 2:1-7

Song: Stir a Passion by Worship Central feat Josh Gauton

Day6

Deeper Discipleship – Min. Kenton David

For many of us we grew up hearing the phrase, sharing is caring.  It’s used to encourage people to learn how to be selfless individuals by sharing things they been blessed with, with others.  The same can be applied to our relationship with God and Jesus Christ.  How blessed are we to know and be loved by God and to know that Jesus Christ is our Savior?  Why wouldn’t we want to share this amazing news with others?  As believers we are all tasked with sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with those we come in contact with so as we go to pray, ask that the Holy Spirit will equip us with the tools to be able to share the good news with people you encounter.

Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Timothy 2:2

Song: I Will Follow by Chris Tomlin

Day7

Knowing God – Rev. Rupert Harrison

Knowing God and knowing about God are two very different things.  You may know facts about God because of what you read in the Bible or because of what you heard in a sermon or because of what your parents or grandparents have told you about Him but that doesn’t mean you know God.  To know God is to have a personal relationship with Him, to be committed to Him, to trust Him, to spend time with Him and His word, to talk with Him in prayer and to love others as He loves us.  Let us be intentional about seeking the face of God and as we pray, let us ask that our relationship with Him will continue to grow and be strengthened.

John 1:12

Song: I Surrender by Todd Galberth

Day8

Rejuvenation to Serve – Min. Margaret Orakwue

For so many of us, life can seem like a circus where we are juggling multiple things trying not to let anything fall.  Sometimes we become overwhelmed or grow weary because of all of our responsibilities. It’s important to know that God doesn’t want the duties of life to weigh us down, that we crumble under it all. He wants us to take breaks and rest so that we can be refreshed to do all that we have to do.  As we go to God in prayer, let us ask Him for wisdom to know how to prioritize the things in our life, endurance to overcome when we are tired, strength to take our rest when needed, and a renewed sense of purpose to be able to serve in all the ways He has called us to be of service.

Exodus 23:12

Song: Send Me by Jenn Johnson feat. Chris Quilala

Day9

Our Place in Ministry – Min. Rachel David

We are all fearfully and wonderfully made and we're equipped with certain gifts that God handpicked for each of us. How awesome is it to know that with all of the billions of people in the world, there is no one exactly like you? As we go to God in prayer, we're asking Him to reveal the gifts He's given to us so that we may use them to honor and glorify Him.

1 Peter 4:10-11

Song: Called to Be by Jonathan Nelson feat PURPOSE

Day10

Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit – Sis. Noel Chase

To recognize and accept God as the Father and Jesus Christ as the Son and Savior, is to acknowledge the Holy Spirit as a guide and as a helper in the lives of all believers. The Holy Spirit dwells within us to provide guidance, comfort and direction among other things as it works to glorify and affirm Jesus Christ and what He has taught us. Let us pray not just for guidance and wisdom but that we are fully receptive to the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

John 16:13

Song: Spirit Fall Down by Luther Barnes

Day11

Being in God’s Will – Min. Kenton David

Trust is one of the core elements of any relationship and our relationship with God is no different. God is very clear on what He says He will do for us if only we believe and trust in Him. Living in God's will doesn't mean that life will be void of troubles but it does mean that God has a plan for each of us that will be revealed in His timing. As we go to God in prayer, let us ask that His will would be revealed and that we would be receptive to it and live our lives accordingly.

Colossians 1:9

Song: Your Will Be Done by Village Hymns feat. Adam Pizarro & Jessica Busboom

Day12

Dependency on God – Rev. Rupert Harrison

Sometimes in life, we experience things that make us stop and think, “where would I be if it wasn’t for God?”  For many of us, we don’t even want to think about that answer because we’ve experienced how the goodness of the presence of God in our lives, can shift things tremendously.  As we go to pray, let us first thank God for his provisions and protection.  Let us ask for our faith to increase so that we can rely on Him more and that our desire to seek Him more would intensify.  Let us also reflect on the many ways that God has shown up and proven His promises to us and let us share our testimonies with others so that they can bear witness to God’s grace and mercy through us.

Psalm 124

Song: Too Faithful by Moses Bliss

P.U.S.H (Midway Point)

Pray Until Something Happens!

We’ve reached the halfway point in our prayer and fasting series and we hope that it has been a rewarding time of deep reflection.  We want to encourage you to commit to spending more time with God, in prayer.  We won’t always immediately see the way God is moving in our lives but be assured that things are happening and changing so P.U.S.H (Pray Until Something Happens)!

Day13

Wisdom – Rev. Jenille Harrison

Wisdom and understanding is more than just knowing facts. It's great to have knowledge at your fingertips but if you don't know how to comprehend the meaning of those facts, what good is knowing it. The goal as believers should always be to not only pursue information but to be able understand it and have the wisdom to know how to use that knowledge and apply to our lives.  As we go to God in prayer, let us ask for Him to impart the gifts of wisdom and understanding into us so that we can use our experiences and the knowledge we acquire to live life according to His will.

Proverbs 16:16

Song: Perfect Wisdom of Our God by Keith & Kristyn Getty

Day14

Fresh Vision – Pastor Justin Lockhart

Sometimes in life we get comfortable in situations where our growth is stunted and there is no forward movement in our lives. We may get to a point where we no longer feel like we know what the next steps are that we should take.In those moments, especially, it is important to call on God to help give us a new outlook and perspective. Let us pray and ask God to give us fresh vision to refocus on and pursue Him through the reading and understanding of His word. Let us also pray that in everything we do it will always align with God's will for us.

Habakkuk 2:2-3, Proverbs 29:18

Song: Moving by TRIBL | Music City Mavericks feat. Tianna, Ryan Ofei & Joe L Barnes

Day15

It’s Not So Complicated – Min. Margaret Orakwue

How sweet it is to be loved unconditionally by God!  There is beauty and power in knowing that because of His love for us and because of the sacrifice of his Son, Jesus Christ, we, as believers can inherit the gift of eternal life.  To receive this undeserved gift of eternal life, God calls us to love Him and each other wholly and unconditionally.  The most beautiful thing about God’s gift of eternal life is that we don’t have to leave this world to receive it.  This gift is available, right now, to all of us who believe that Jesus Christ, is Lord and Savior.  As we pray, let us ask God to remove anything from our lives that inhibit us from loving Him and our brothers and sisters fully and unconditionally.

Luke 10:27

Song: Nothing/Something by Pat Barrett, Dante Bowe

Day16

Family – Min. Rachel David

We all are members of various family units whether biological, chosen, church or even work.  As a member of these units, it is hard not to be concerned for the health and wellbeing of our families especially over the past two years.  But just as we are concerned for our families, God is even more concerned about them and cares so much for them.  Today, in our prayer time, let us first thank God for loving each of us as much as He does.  No love is as great and wonderful as the love God has for us.  As we pray, let us lift up all of our families to God asking for continued protection and provisions for them.

Numbers 6:24-26, Psalm 103:17-18

Song: The Blessing Gospel Revamp by Elevation Church feat. Isaiah Templeton

Day17

Unity – Min. Kenton David

So often we think of our Christian walk as an individual journey and in some regards it is, in fact, a solo undertaking. That being said, as believers we are all united as one, to become the body of Christ.  As members of the body, we are all called to live lives worthy and pleasing to God and that can't be achieved if there is discord among the members. As we each seek to be worthy of the charge God has given us, let us remember that our brothers and sisters in Christ are on their own journeys alongside us, but at different paces. As we pray, let us ask God to equip us with characters that reflect humility, patience and gentleness and let us always remember that we are stronger together than we are apart.

Ephesians 4:1-3

Song: Make Us One by Naomi Raine

Day18

Cities – Pastor Justin Lockhart

God’s instruction for His people is very clear.  We are to live lives pleasing and acceptable to Him, we’re supposed to love one another as He loves us, we are to make disciples and spread the Gospel, among other things.   In order to accomplish this we have find a balance between living “in” the world but not being “of” the world.  We are called to be light in a very dark place and we are expected to be dutiful stewards of everything God has given us in order to help others and glory God.  As we pray, let us be mindful of our role as stewards and let us do all that we can to take care of our communities and its inhabitants.

Jeremiah 29:4-7

Song: Rest on Us by Maverick City Music & Upperroom

Day19

Spiritual Warfare – Rev. Jenille Harrison

Sometimes we encounter difficult people and situations that test our patience. One thing the Bible teaches us to do is to be slow to anger because that type of fretful disposition leads to destructive ways and foolish decisions. Instead we are tasked with keeping things in perspective and understanding that the evil and wickedness that afflicts our world is a result of larger things at play. As we pray, let us ask God for the wisdom and understanding to combat these difficulties with patience, love, prayer and the Word of God.

Ephesians 6:12

Song: Waging War by Cece Winans

Day20

Trusting God – Rev. Rupert Harrison

Are you feeling anxious or stressed about things in your life? Do you feel uncomfortable if you do not have full control of a situation? A big part of having a relationship with God is trusting in His plans for us. We don't always see the big picture of how things will play out, but God does so learn to trust in Him to see us through. Let us go humbly to God in prayer with the assurance that He is our refuge and strength, our strong tower in the midst of trouble and our burden bearer. Cast your cares on Him and trust in Him that He will take care of all of our needs. Let go and let God!

1 Peter 5:7

Song: Trust Me by Richard Smallwood

Day21

Wait with Expectation – Sis. Noel Chase

We live in a world where we like to see things happen immediately. We feel that if we don't see any movement or changes in a situation that nothing is happening. Sometimes we go to God in prayer asking Him to move in our lives or to resolve problems for us and the moment we finish praying we expect our problems to be resolved. God does not work on our timing, He moves at His own pace and in His own way and for our ultimate benefit. Just because you can't see things happening doesn't mean that your situation isn't changing. To know God and to have confidence in Him is to trust in His plans and His timing so as you go to God in prayer, ask for patience, an open and receptive heart and for doubt to be removed from us.
